I felt a bit fed up this morning.
Then the phone rang. It was a friend I hadn’t seen for a while, asking if she could pop in. Straight away, my spirits lifted. I no longer felt alone.
In my view, our confidence is very much affected by the people in our lives.
Here are three tried and tested ways to build your Confidence Circle, starting now. It’s all about the people.
- Go through your Christmas card list/address book/ contacts list and choose 3 people who you’d like to see more of.
- Phone 1 for a ‘catch up chat’ and, if you’d like to, and feel that they’d like to, arrange to meet for coffee/a drink/ shopping/whatever.
- Now phone the other 2 and arrange to have an informal ‘Bring–a-dish get together’ with/without their partner/OH.
There! And I bet you can find 3 more people to add to your Confidence Circle, without even trying!
Once you’re on a roll with this, you’ll be stopping to chat to neighbours when you normally would hurry by, e:mailing friends you’d lost touch with and discovering how a Circle of Confidence can transform your thinking about yourself.
